I’m thrilled to announce that VMware has joined our existing investors Michigan eLab, Start Garden, and Grand Angels in the Series A financing round we previously announced in June. You can find more details about VMware’s investment in Blue Medora in the official press release.VMware_logo_grey

In recent years, VMware has done an admirable job of expanding their traditional footprint in the datacenter beyond the vSphere hypervisor, and in doing so has become a market leader in hybrid cloud, public cloud, software defined data center, and cloud systems management.

Blue Medora’s core strategy has always been to develop solutions that extend the reach of technologically innovative application performance management and cloud systems management platforms. Our solutions enable customers to leverage their investments in these platforms to increase visibility across a greater cross-section of the complex application stacks that their businesses depend on.

VMware’s product suite, vRealize, is one of the most comprehensive and innovative platforms in the cloud systems management space. We decided to invest in developing a family of management products that would extend vRealize by enabling VMware vRealize-based monitoring, alerting, capacity planning, predictive analytics, and discovery such as:

  • Business critical applications such as Oracle middleware and apps (SAP and Citrix XenDesktop & XenApp)
  • Databases such as Oracle DB, Oracle RAC, SAP HANA, and Microsoft SQL Server
  • Datacenter infrastructure components including NetApp Storage, Cisco UCS, Cisco Nexus, Lenovo and Dell Compute, as well as F5 BIG-IP

Blue Medora introduced our first vRealize-focused solutions in late 2013. Our approach has been to build upon the core capabilities of vRealize products like vRealize Operations (vROps) by providing deep integration with technologies mentioned above via a maniacal focus on providing the contextual information required to fully connect the dots and provide ‘App to Disk’ true visibility into complex enterprise App stacks.

The reaction from our initial customers was resoundingly positive, and it immediately captured the attention of VMware. When Blue Medora decided to raise our Series A, both companies were in agreement that it was a no-brainer for VMware to be involved in the round.

Finally I would like to conclude this post by thanking everyone who has helped Blue Medora to get to this point. Specifically, to our customers for trusting Blue Medora software to manage and monitor their business critical applications and IT infrastructure, VMware for taking this journey with us along with our other investors, and our incredible employees for their passion, drive, intelligence, and enthusiasm for building world-class software.

So far 2015 has been an incredible year of transformation, growth, and customer adoption for Blue Medora and our solutions — buckle your seat belts for what comes next.
