New! Oracle BI Publisher Reports for VMware Performance, Availability, and Health

by bluemedora_editor on February 16, 2013

The Blue Medora Oracle EM Plug-in for VMware FP1  includes support for a new bundle of VMware focused performance, availability, health reports that have been designed for use with the bundled Oracle BI Publisher engine included with Oracle EM12c. These reports are freely available for any existing Blue Medora Oracle EM Plug-in for VMware customer.

Over the next few weeks we’ll be publishing a series of blog posts that describe these various reports in detail as well as how they can be utilized by Oracle administrators to gain critical insights about the VMware virtualization layer that their Oracle workloads are running within.

The example I am demonstrating in this post is a VMware Virtual Machine Performance Report.   This particular report allows you to select any VM within the monitored VMware environment via a series of parameters that allows you to filter your search to a particular vCenter, Datacenter, Cluster, Hypervisor or (ESX Server).  The report focuses on providing historical trending on the following performance metrics:

  • Memory
  • CPU
  • Disk Utilization
  • Network Utilization

The beauty of these reports is that they can be scheduled in a manner that they are automatically published to a external web location or quite simply emailed to your inbox on a scheduled basis.
