Now we can configure our newly installed agent. Start the configuration by running the following command in your CANDLEHOME/bin directory:./itmcmd config -A p8You will be asked to enter a descriptive instance name:Agent configuration started... Enter instance name (default is: ): psps01Choose to edit the “Monitoring Agent for PeopleSoft Domain” settings and the “Basic” settings. Th

After entering the configuration options for your environment, you need to also enter the connection settings for your TEMS. After that, you need to preserve the PeopleTools environment for the user account that is running both PeopleSoft and eventually the agents (they must be the same user). To do this, you must edit the .profile for that user. Add the following line:. [ITM home]/[platform code]/[product code]/bin/preserve_pt_environment.shWhere [ITM home] is the IBM Tivoli installation directory, [platform code] is the code for the operating system, and [product code] is the product code for the agent (P8 or P9). Congratulations, the configuration is complete! Make sure to switch to the same user that PeopleSoft is running on before starting the agents.
