How To Perform A Silent Install and Configuration of An ITM Agent

by bluemedora_editor on July 2, 2012

Overview

In this walkthrough, I’ll go describe some basic steps to performing a simple silent installation and configuration of an IBM Tivoli Monitoring Agent.

If you have any questions regarding any of these steps feel free to send me an email at: matthew.rumph@bluemedora.com

Windows

The first step we need to take, before we do anything else, is to locate the two .txt files used for the installation and configuration:

  • Silent_Install.txt:
    • [Installation_media]\WINDOWS\Deploy\[PC]_Silent_Install.txt
  • Silent_Config.txt:
    • [Installation_media]\silent_config.txt

Silent Install:

start /wait setup /z"/sf[PATH_TO_FILE]" /s

Where the [PATH_TO_FILE] is the location of the UB_Silent_Install.txt that we mentioned above.

*Note: The length of the silent install text filename should be 8 characters or less.
