Today, eWeek published an article on a study of CIOs from around the world that asked what some of their key concerns are as they move to virtualize more of their important IT infrastructure. Among the interesting information in the article is the fact that virtualized infrastructure currently accounts for 51 percent of enterprise servers, a number that is expected to grow to 63 percent by 2014 (that’s next year, folks).
According to the study, which was commissioned by Veeam and included survey responses from 500 CIOs around the world, data backup and data restoration are — not surprisingly — significant challenges.
