New Relic Logs Expands Observability with BindPlane

by bluemedora_admin on October 14, 2019

Extending log monitoring and observability for New Relic customers across on-prem and multi-cloud, databases and applications.

GRAND RAPIDS, MICH. – Oct 14, 2019 – IT monitoring integration innovator, Blue Medora, today announced early access availability of over 50 log source integrations, dramatically simplified deployment options, fully-managed log agent, and 24/7 customer support for New Relic customers through BindPlane, its Monitoring Integration as a Service (MIaaS) solution.

Helping New Relic customers properly configure and monitor all of their data sources efficiently can be challenging and time-consuming. In the case of monitoring logs through New Relic, this often requires custom configuration and a deep understanding of FluentD, Logstash, or other open source solutions. What’s more, in order for New Relic’s customers to integrate log monitoring, they are required to create their own parsers and formatters to generate attributes. This is where BindPlane comes in to simplify logging for New Relic users.

BindPlane automates the collection and enhancement of diverse IT operations data and the metadata that exposes IT relationships. Designed in response to the complexity of managing operations data in hybrid and multi-cloud environments, this real-time data stream improves upon the analytics of popular monitoring platforms including New Relic, Google Stackdriver, Azure Monitor, VMware, and others. BindPlane for New Relic is designed with the purpose of easing the configuration for all of the data sources your organization needs to seamlessly monitor your enterprise workloads within New Relic.

Many customers already rely on BindPlane to connect New Relic Insights to metrics from 175 technologies that support on-prem, cloud, and hybrid workloads. BindPlane now includes log monitoring from over 50 log types fully supported and integrated with New Relic Log Analytics.

“New Relic is a great partner and we are excited to be expanding our commitment to their customers with BindPlane Logs. Expanding New Relic Log support to 50 new log integrations and a fully-managed log agent,” said Mike Kelly, Chief Technology Officer at Blue Medora.  “BindPlane’s core strength is the continual expansion and management of log and metric integrations into our customers preferred monitoring platform.”

You can learn more about BindPlane for logs on the Blue Medora website. New Relic users can enroll in the early access program for BindPlane Logs through October 31st and start streaming logs at no charge for the duration of the program by visiting bluemedora.com/new-relic-logs

Google Stackdriver Logging Expanded to 38 New Sources via Blue Medora BindPlane

by bluemedora_admin on July 17, 2019

Extending observability for Stackdriver customers across on-prem and multi-cloud Kubernetes, databases and applications

GRAND RAPIDS, MICH. – July 17, 2019 – IT monitoring integration innovator Blue Medora today announced open access availability of an initial 38 log source integrations through its BindPlane log streaming platform, for all Stackdriver customers.

This follows the April announcement with Google Cloud to bring to market its Monitoring- Integration-as-a-Service at no additional licensing cost to Stackdriver customers. The managed log streaming capability simplifies extending Stackdriver’s observability to enterprise customer data centers and other public clouds. The addition of log source ingestion complements BindPlane’s existing metrics data pipelining capabilities.

The new log source integrations include Kubernetes, Amazon EKS and Azure AKS, along with support for key workloads including Windows applications, Microsoft SQL Server, Oracle, Elasticsearch, Kafka, NGINX and more.

They allow Stackdriver customers to unify event analysis, even when running multiple Kubernetes orchestrated services across Google Cloud, Amazon Web Services, Microsoft Azure and private data centers. These capabilities also enable diagnosing production issues for application stacks running on Google Cloud VMs.

BindPlane automates the collection and enhancement of diverse IT operations data, and the metadata that exposes IT relationships. Designed in response to the complexity of managing operations data in hybrid and multi-cloud environments, this real time data stream improves upon the analytics of popular monitoring platforms including Google Stackdriver, Azure Monitor, New Relic, VMware, Datadog and others.

“The Blue Medora and Stackdriver solution has allowed me to gather signals from a really diverse environment and see them in a single pane of glass,” said Timothy Wright, founder at Eastbound Technology. “This has saved us significant money and effort otherwise spent on managing additional tools and open source solutions.”

“The key to BindPlane’s greatest value is having it offer the widest range of integrations possible to customers, for their preferred monitoring tools,” said Mike Kelly, chief technology officer at Blue Medora. “We’ll continue to build on these integrations to make sure we offer the most inclusive monitoring and observability capabilities available.”

Stackdriver brings together application performance tracing, logs, and infrastructure monitoring functions into a single tool. The addition of BindPlane unlocks a real-time, dimensional data stream to as many as 150 operations data sources that support monitoring:

  • Non-GCP public cloud resources including Amazon AWS, Microsoft Azure, Alibaba Cloud, and IBM Cloud.
  • Critical workloads and databases on GCP (or data center) virtual machines and on-premises infrastructure.

Details on how to deploy Stackdriver with BindPlane can be found on Google’s website.

Blue Medora Expands Google Stackdriver Enterprise Monitoring Coverage

by Maowee Lee on April 9, 2019
New logs and metrics integrations now available to customers, improving observability and reducing data management

GRAND RAPIDS, MICH. + SAN FRANCISCO, CALIF. – April 9, 2019 – In response to the complexity of managing operations data in hybrid and multi-cloud environments, IT monitoring integration innovator Blue Medora today announced general availability of its BindPlane for Google Stackdriver service and new log monitoring capabilities. Blue Medora is at Google Cloud Next ‘19 in San Francisco at booth #S1661.

The partnership between Blue Medora and Google Cloud now brings to market an embedded Monitoring-Integration-as-a-Service, at no additional licensing cost to Stackdriver customers. Blue Medora BindPlane also now includes preview access to a new log streaming capability, that simplifies extending Stackdriver’s observability to enterprise customer data centers and other public clouds.

“In our most recent Voice of the Enterprise Digital Pulse: Budgets and Outlook survey, 62% of respondents said their organizations operate in a hybrid IT environment, with integrated on-premises and off-premises deployments,” said Nancy Gohring, senior analyst, infrastructure and application performance for 451 Research. “Such businesses typically tell us that they prefer an observability tool that delivers insight into both cloud and on-premises workloads because such tools can help operations professionals more quickly pinpoint the root cause when problems occur.”

“As observability emerges as a critical capability in the enterprise, operations data can no longer be thought of as a second-class citizen if we want performance answers quickly,” said Mike Kelly, chief technology officer at Blue Medora. “BindPlane’s log stream takes an innovative approach to logs, one that makes more sense for observability platforms like Stackdriver supporting use cases like performance optimization or security.”

Stackdriver brings together application performance tracing, logs, and infrastructure monitoring functions into a single tool. The addition of BindPlane unlocks a real-time, dimensional data stream to as many as 150 operations data sources that support monitoring:
  • on-premises infrastructure.
  • non-GCP public cloud resources including Amazon AWS, Microsoft Azure, Alibaba Cloud, and IBM Cloud.
  • critical workloads and databases on GCP (or data center) virtual machines.
Blue Medora will co-present a session with Google Cloud at Next ‘19:
Thursday, April 11, 11:40-12:30 – Third-Party Data Visibility in Google Stackdriver with Google Cloud product manager Marie Cosgrove-Davies and Blue Medora CTO Mike Kelly.

Details on how to deploy BindPlane for Stackdriver can be found on our website.
