Blue Medora is pleased to announce the release of an update to the Blue Medora ITM Agent for Ping Probe — v6.20.01.  New features introduced in this update include:

  • A user defined reload interval (in minutes) has been added for the (optional) CSV based directive file that contains the list of hosts to be pinged.   Previously the CSV file was reloaded only after an agent restart
  • The host definition format in the CSV based directive file has been expanded to include ‘scope’.  When used in combination with ITM 6.2.2 features such as ‘tacmd putfile’, the ITM Configuration Facility that was introduced in ITM 6.2.2 FP2, or simply a network shared common file location, a network of Ping Probe agent instances can together utilize a single host directive file when the ‘scope’ field is defined for entries
  • A new attribute group, ‘Notable Results’, has been added that contains Ping results for hosts that were evaluated as Unsuccessful, Slow, or Error only.  This feature was implemented in response to customers utilizing the Ping Probe agent to Ping many thousands of hosts on a frequent basis.  By isolating “interesting” results into a specific attribute group, Data Warehousing can be turned on for that attribute group only, removing the need to collect Warehousing data for all the successful Ping results
  • A new Ping Status Description value has been added for both the ‘Results’ and ‘Notable Results’ attribute groups called “Host Unresolvable” which differentiates a host that the agent was unable to resolve against DNS vs a host that the agent was simply unable to reach
